He has also served as the managing director of ENIC International Limited, a company owned by Joe Lewis, Daniel Levy alongside his family.

Levy was born to Jewish parents in Essex, England. His father, Barry Levy, ran the apparel retailer Mr. Byrite, which was eventually renamed Blue Inc.

He has been a lifelong fan of Tottenham Hotspur and went to his first game at White Hart Lane against QPR in the 1960s when he was seven or eight years old.

At Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge, where he studied economics and land economics, he earned a first-class honors degree in 1985.

Career

Following graduation, Levy worked for a number of companies, including his family’s company, Mr. Byrite, and real estate development. He entered the field of investment banking, engaged in private equity, and raised funds to make investments in numerous businesses.

In 1995, he and Joe Lewis co-founded the investment trust ENIC International Ltd, where he later rose to the position of managing director. ENIC was transformed by Levy into a media, entertainment, and sports company. Lewis has 70.6% of the equity in ENIC while Levy and his family hold 29.4%.

Six European sports teams, including Tottenham Hotspur, were purchased by ENIC in the form of shares. Levy served as a director of the Scottish football team Rangers from 1998 until 2004.

ENIC owned a sizable stake in the team. Aside from these football clubs, ENIC also owned shares in Slavia Prague, FC Basel, Vicenza, AEK Athens, and Warner Bros. Restaurants. It also owned shares in Cambridge software firm Autonomy.

He acquired a sizable investment in Tottenham Hotspur, where he later rose to the position of chairman, but all of his other teams were eventually sold since UEFA regulations forbade clubs owned by the same person from participating in the same competition.
