screening Exercise has commenced in Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua
Brief History About Akwa Poly
The state of Akwa Ibom issued decree number. 11 in 1991, which founded the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic. After Cross River State was split off to become Akwa Ibom State in 1987, the decision was made to construct the institution. On Friday, January 24, 1992, the institution received its formal commissioning.
In the 15 (fifteen) academic programs that the ministry of education developed, a total of 961 students were accepted and registered. The courses were offered in engineering, communication arts, environmental studies, and the sciences.
The comparable staff size was 3 (three) main officers and 492 (academic and non-academic) employees, the majority of them were rehired from the polytechnic in Calabar.
However, the position is different; there are 676 employees overall, including 253 lecturers, 244 senior non-academic employees, and 179 junior employees. The number of students has also grown. However, due to the non-accreditation of programs between 1996 and 2000, the number of academic programs fell to 8 (eight) (NBTE).
Currently, 15 (fifteen) programs at the national diploma (ND) and higher national diploma (HND) levels have received full accreditation from NBTE.

To qualify for the screening exercise, candidates must have chosen Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua as their FIRST OR SECOND CHOICE and candidate must have scored at least 120 in the 2022 UTME

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
CANDIDATES SHOULD VISIT THE SCHOOL WEBSITE:
www.akwaibompoly.edu.ng clicks the online application, and then generate an invoice (RRR number) with the following details:
(i)JAMB Reg. Number (ii) Phone Number (iii) Name
The candidate should go to any commercial bank in Nigeria to purchase an electronic application pin of N2,000 (inclusive of bank and charges) for the screening fees.
Candidate must upload their WAEC result to JAMB via JAMB’s portal and the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic’s portal respectively.
Using the pin, visit
www.akwaibompoly.edu.ng to fill out and submit the application form. Download and print the acknowledgment slip as evidence of registration.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE
Candidates should upload the following documents to the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic portal:
1. Photocopies of JAMB slip showing their photographs
2. JAMB online result
3. Other Credentials
4. Valid scratch card pin for verification of WACE and, or NECO result(s).
Application Deadline: The 2022/2023 UTME screening exercise shall be in a dedicated calibrated format. The result of the screening exercise shall be published accordingly.
